About Me

Life is full of choices and opportunities. When you capitalize on those opportunities, life is fulfilling…and challenging!

I started quilting in 2005. I attended a quilt show with a friend and ended up buying a rag quilt kit. That’s all it took. One kit and I was hooked! Since then, I, like many of you, have been making quilts that don’t necessarily have a home (yet). The pattern or fabric “was calling my name” and couldn’t be left behind!

In December 2006, our first son was born. Opportunity knocked and we decided to pursue a home-based business. In November of 2007, my Gammill Optimum longarm machine equipped with a Statler Stitcher arrived. I don’t think I will ever use all the patterns that are on the computer, but lucky for me, if I can’t find the perfect pattern, there is an endless supply available via the internet.

My machine can be run automatically or manually. The Statler Stitcher program enables me to easily adjust pattern size, shape or direction and ensures precision stitching and pattern replication. I have a 14 foot table, so I can easily accommodate King size projects. I prefer to use cotton thread and have a wide selection of Signature and King Tut threads.

To date, I have been very blessed to be working from home and finishing quilts.  Life continues to change (time marches on) and I am now at home with my youngest and my oldest is a full time student – elementary student that is!

There are many days that I am inspired by what I see and wish I was quilting instead! Yet there seems to be more quilts in my home than people to use them, so I’m finding time to do some piecing still.

Looking back at the opportunities I have had, I never imagined that someday I’d be telling people I am a stay-at-home mom and run a longarm quilting business!
